The fabrication world has changed immensely

1) Our annual ASME audit landed at the busiest time of year possible. Kim Insko worked through the process with relative ease and only a few minor changes are required in the way we handle some of our welder testing and paperwork.
2) “Job Cost” software implementation was completed as an addition to our Great Plains accounting software. We went live on December 1st 2009 and, although we are still tweaking the process, it is proving to be very advantageous. Not only are we seeing a drastic decrease in the duplicate data entry required by Maverick Business Solutions, but we now have more up to date and accurate information on all costs associated with material, labor, and subcontractors. This added insight will help us to improve our cost control, identify savings opportunities, make our bidding process more accurate, and ensure our competitiveness in the industry.
3) We have acquired and erected a new 6000 lbs rated moveable gantry crane. This crane will not only help us to be more efficient in the shop but will also greatly improve safety when it comes to handling heavier objects during assembly of vessels and packaging.
