WTX – The Next Generation
Submitted by admin on Tue, 04/13/2010 - 13:20WTX – The Next Generation
Since inception, Well Test Express (WTX) has been a key component of Southern Plains Energy’s spot testing services, which has provided a significant advantage to SPE over other companies providing similar services. WTX has allowed SPE to deliver test results to clients in a timely and professional manner.During this past year, Technical Services was approached by SPE to move WTX to the internet. SPE wanted to distance itself further from the competition by giving customers the ability to view test results and history directly from the internet.
SPE also saw the cost saving benefit it would be able to pass on to customers by minimizing the manual amount of labour required to deliver finished test reports to its clients in the minimum amount of time. After creating a detailed requirements document and obtaining approval, Technical Services spent the next five months developing, testing and deploying the web version of WTX.
A secondary benefit of having access to a centralized WTX database for SPE clients is that it has allowed them to access historical well test results from previous years (test reports from SPE or others). The Technical Services Group worked with SPE and clients to import historic test results into WTX. Having a single place to access and analyze all test results is proving to have tremendous benefits to SPE clients.
Features of WebWTX include web reporting, user login accounts with user read/write access privileges, direct exports to Prism or similar accounting applications, interactive well test calculator, edit functionality including internal company comments, input of production hours, entering tubing and casing pressures and editing tester comments.
